Buddhist tour in Nepal is designed for those, who want to know about the various aspects of Buddhism, and who want to get all the information from beginning to the end. Not only this tour takes you to Lumbini, but also to all the famous Buddhist sites that are in Nepal, especially that are in Kathmandu, and they include Swayambhunath, which has a dome-like structure at its base, above which you see a cubical structure. The structure that you look at it has painted eyes of Buddha. Bouddhanath stupa is another important Buddhist site and is one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, where over 50 Tibetan Gompas or monasteries are located. This tour also provides you all the resources that you want to have on Buddhism. One of the highlights is, it takes you to Namo Boudha, and the reason why it is famous is, it has Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, where the Lord Buddha gave his body to a starving tigress and her cubs.

Buddhist Tour in Nepal has richness because it takes you to Lumbini. The reason why Lumbini comes first in the list is, it is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Other sites that follow it are Bodh Gaya, Kushinagar, and Sarnath, each of these sites is in India. Of these sites, Bodhgaya occupies an important place because it is where the Lord Buddha was enlightened. But Lumbini is Lumbini because it is the birthplace, where you will see the palace of Lord Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, which has more than 365 million followers.

It is not only religious tour but also cultural because it familiarizes you with all the important UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu. In this tour, you head off to the palaces that are in Kathmandu, wherein you will walk in their courtyards as the kings and queens used to in the past, and where you will be amazed by their beautiful windows and wooden crafts that the famous Nepalese architectures of that time designed and made.

 

Itinerary

You will be warmly welcomed at the airport by our office representative and transfer to hotel Your tour guide will give a brief explanation of the Buddhist tour program at the hotel Today you can stay at the hotel or enjoy a night at Thamel, Kingsway especially famous for clubs and bars.

After hot breakfast in the morning, we get started to visit the historical and UNESCO world heritage sites of Kathmandu City escorting by our city tour guide. Today, we will visit two Buddhist shrine sites (Boudhanath and Swyambhunath stupa). Firstly, we observe Buddhist pilgrimage site that is "Swyambhunath" which is well known as monkey temple of Nepal. We will see lots of monkeys around Swyambnunath and visit the important part of the stupas. And then we move towards today's final destination called Bouddhanath stupa. It is one of the world largest Buddhist stupas where over 50 Tibetan Gompas or monasteries lies. Especially the monks of this stupas are from Tibet. Back to the hotel for overnight inclusive bed and breakfast.

Today after breakfast, we are heading towards Namobuddha by leaving behind the crowded city Kathmandu. We take a short and scenic one hour drive to Dhulikhel. Dhulikhel is a beautiful traditional Newar town. And then we start to trek gradually uphill about 1750m to reach Namobuddha. During the trek, we pass via beautiful classic terrace with breathtaking mountains views. And then we observe our today's destination called Namobuddha. Namobuddha is an ancient the sacred destination of the Buddhist religion. The monastery is surrounded by beautiful Tamang settlements. You can see many Buddha's stupas in the hilltop. You will get surprised by the number of temples, variations in landscapes and diversity of people living in harmony. And then drive back to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel inclusive bed and breakfast.

Today after breakfast, we drive about 9 hours for Lumbini - the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Lumbini lies in the Terai region of Nepal which is more flat land. Because of the low altitude than the Kathmandu city, the weather gets hotter here except in the winter. However, Lumbini is the most important Buddhist holy site. Stay overnight at hotel inclusive bed and breakfast.

Today, we will visit the world's famous Buddhist religious and historical places of Lumbini. The area is surrounded by the monuments, temples and ancient sites. Lumbini is also listed in the UNESCO world heritage site. We will visit Mayadevi temple, where Lord Buddha was born and Pushkarni Pond where the baby Siddartha was given his first bath after the birth. There are many Buddhist temples founded by the devotees from the different countries. An inscription on a pillar erected by Maurya Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC. authenticates that the Buddha was born at this spot. Now archaeological excavations have discovered the marker stone at the basement of the Maya Devi Temple. It is believed to have been laid there by Emperor Ashoka to denote the exact scared spot. There is the Buddha first put his foot on earth. Stay overnight at hotel inclusive bed and breakfast.

After breakfast in the morning, we take a drive about 7 hours to Pokhara. Pokhara is one of the clean and beautiful scenic city of Nepal. It is also called the city of lakes. You can enjoy the view of panoramic views of mountains like Fishtail, Dhaulagiri etc. Stay overnight at hotel inclusive bed and breakfast.
 

 

This day we will visit some of the Buddhist places of Pokhara and also enjoy the nature's beauty. Firstly, we will visit World peace stupa which is constructed by Buddhist monks from the Japanese Nipponzan Myohji organization above the Phewa Lake. From the top of the stupa, we can enjoy the splendid view of mountains as well as Pokhara valley. And then we will visit the Malepatan monastery. We also make another hike to Hyangja which is the site of Tibetan refugee camp who escaped Tibet after the Cultural Revolution in China. Finally, We will do boating on Phewa lake and stay overnight at hotel on B/B plan.

Today is last day of the trip, after breakfast, we will take a drive back to Kathmandu. And then transfer to hotel for overnight inclusive bed and breakfast.

Today is your departure day, we will drop you to the International airport to catch your flight back to your home and pray for your Safe journey.
