The 12- day trek on the Tamanag heritage trail was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The trek offers stunning views of the Himalayas with the snow covered mountains, beautiful landscapes from lush valleys to rugged ridges. Every steps revels something new which always surprises me.
My journey begins with a tourist bus drive from Kathmandu to Syafru bensi. The road passes through the beautiful mountains and small streams. The trekking portion starts from Syafru bensi. The route passes through many small traditional tamang village. Navigating through those trail was not possible solo. Thanks to our guide Milan Buda who helped us in navigating those trail and also our porter Pashang Sherpa was best. Our guide was very knowledgeable about that trail and helped us to know more about the places we visited. He shared us information about the local tamang people, their culture, tradition and daily lifestyle.
During this trek I visited many highlighted places such as Gatlang village, Langtang valley, Thuman Monastry, Kyanjin gompa. Kyanjin Ri and Tserko Ri viewpoint. Those places were amazing and offers a beautiful scenic views of mountains and landscapes. The views from Kyanjin Ri and Tserko Ri viewpoint (5033m) were truly an amazing. Although I had visited many places in this trek and met many great people, one small boy I met in Gatlang village will always remains in my memory. His name was Pema Tamang and he was such a lovely child. I liked the dress he worn which was traditional tamang dress and loved the way he spoke to us. I gave his some biscuits which I had carried and he got very happy with that. The smile in his face made me so happy and I will always remember his face with such great smile.
The accommodation during the trek was simple and comfortable. Best Heritage Tour made sure that get the hygienic and clean accommodation. Also the meals were simple yet very tasty. Meals were made with fresh local ingredients because of which we get to taste the natural flavour of the Himalayas. Their hospitality was exceptional and I was fortunate to experience their authentic local food. I enjoyed the chance to immerse myself in the local culture and tradition of the tamang people. Whether you're an experienced trekker or someone looking for a moderate challenge, this trek is definitely worth considering.
